Project / 02

Gracelands Retirement Village, Hastings

The project brief was stage one civil infrastructure works for 50 retirement apartments and dwellings.

The Gracelands project was our first big commercial job as lead contractor. As you’d expect, this caused a few nerves within the Drainways team. But we took up the challenge with a determination to achieve a successful outcome for our client, Oceania Healthcare, one of New Zealand’s largest owner/ operators of retirement villages.

From a drainlaying perspective, the job couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Compaction standards were always exceeded, engineering requirements were met, and all pipes were laid correctly first time.

It takes a great team to be successful on the big jobs, but what was truly remarkable about this project was the collaborative spirit amongst our team of sub-contractors and a willingness from our client to let us get on with job.

Thank you to Oceania Healthcare for believing in us and having confidence we could complete the project to a high standard on time and well within budget.
