Park Road Rising Main, Hastings

Drainways was the main contractor to the Hastings District Council to provide a new sewer rising (pumped) main from Park Rd, down Victoria St and a final connection point at Willowpark Rd.

This was Drainways first major job as lead contractor to Hastings District Council.

One of the initial challenges was determining the potential for underground service clashes. This required potholing two metres deep to find service locations and then plotting these with GPS to provide council engineers with coordinates for their modelling to ensure the rising main didn’t clash with these existing services.

The project also included a 30-metre section of directional drilling that required two drill shots.
