/ The Role

Project Manager

As a Project Manager at Drainways you will be tasked to successfully deliver two water treatment plants we are building for the Hastings District Council.

This is a high-profile project in relation to the “Three Waters” programme that aims to improve the regulation and supply of drinking water for the community. Currently, one treatment plant is in build phase which you will be expected to take over and deliver by May 2022. The second project is due to start in October 2021 with the aim of delivery by November 2022.  You will be responsible for the development of project plans with participation in planning meetings. Additionally, you will be responsible for promoting and ensuring H&S compliance across the project as well as all admin, reports, and QA documents. Whilst you won’t have direct reports you will be responsible for hiring and managing a range of contractors and vendors across both sites, consequently you will be expected to be on site 100% of the time.

Essential Skills Required:

  • A great attitude and drive to work with and support the team
  • Residential land development or vertical build experience (previous experience in the delivery of water treatment plants is advantageous)
  • Experienced in project planning and compliance (H&S, financials, insurance, environmental and QA)
  • Previous experience of managing sub-contractors or vendors
  • Comfortable in the use and application of MS project
  • Ability to build strong relationships across a range of stakeholders (e.g., operations manager, site manager and various sub-contractors)
  • Strong work ethic and comfortable handling ambiguity

General Labourer

As a labourer with Drainways you will support the delivery of our projects by working in a team environment where everybody’s input is noticed and appreciated.

You’ll be prepared and willing to do manual labour both in and out of the trenches and we’ll provide opportunity for you to progress your skills and develop.

About You

To be considered for this role you will have a great attitude, be a team player and have a desire to work and learn.

You’ll also need to be safety conscious and be able to look out for yourself and your team mates.
